My Twinn is a Colorado based company. They ran into a bunch of trouble a couple Christmas's ago after they outsourced production to China because they couldn't get the holiday orders shipped back by Dec 25.

<Shudder> - First prostitots, now Realdoll(s)TM for tots.

Metafilter - lets make a line of S&M gear for the toddler market before anyone else does. Domtots and Subtots?

Why do Americans have an obsession with turning their children into freaky, terrifying zombies? This site is right up there with Jon Benet Ramsay and that stomach churning beauty contest site that was posted here recently. It's horrible. These dolls are clearly targeted at anxious mothers who are looking for something mute and legal for their husbands to occupy themselves with.

Heh. This company was (is?) owned by the father of a friend I had growing up. The family had a bunch of kids, each of whom had several "twinns." It was really, really creepy going over to their house.

If you think that's disturbing, try searching ebay for "reborn".

Do these work as voodoo dolls, too?

fire&wings - the worst thing for me about that "cherubic" photo site was the categories - 13-18 months. Months. iirc At first I thought it was years... Scultped eyebrows on an infant?! I didn't even think infants had eyebrows...

"I swear Mom, I didn't do it! It was THE DOLL!!"

Wow. That is pretty weird and freaky. I'd be scared to go to my friend's house if he had a bunch of look-a-like dolls lying all over the house.

So, what's next? Does this mean that narcissists can now get RealDolls made to look like them?

I'm surprised they aren't offering RealChildrenDolls. Shudder.

It now appears to be owned by eToys Direct. Check out the copyright notice at the bottom of every page.

If I had one of those as a child I would have nightmares that it had eaten my soul. Then I would have pretended it was my friend. "Kid sister, kid sister... kid sister and me!" It would be fun to play "children of the corn" with these dolls or make a stop-motion film.

This product/company is at least 7 years old; maybe it's never been posted on MeFi before, but how could that be? It's old news. Creepy, yes, but old as well.
