One Guy's Life 12 days per second

One guy's life, 12 days per second *embedded video* (Quicktime 7.0 required). Just to distract from the rest of it . . . "Each day of my life passes so quickly. What did I look like a week ago? To me nothing changes, and yet I feel a constant desire to remind myself of my own life passing it's way to that inevitable end (not that it is doing me any good)."

Quicktime 7 Preview for Windows

Quicktime 7? Why would you encode a video in a format that only a few people can use right now? It's not like this video would have been much uglier if he'd used an older format.

I just don't get it.

Oh well.

This sounds so great, but I have to download a 24mb preview to view it? It better be the best damn video ever....

Well, he did a good job of holding the camera in the same place. But beyond that, it was pretty dull.

I wasn't feelin' the 'stache.

....okay, you got lucky. This IS good. I think it would be better if the photo was taken under the same conditions each time (ie, same background) but that's asking a lot. Watching it a little more slowly is interesting too. Watching the hair grow for example. Weird.

So a year on meth does this to you? Scary indeed.

Hey, can any you Einsteins calculate how many brain cells I lost while watching this?

let me know in 20 or 30 years if he's still holding the camera in the same place.

Cool concept. I would love to see a time-lapse of someone's entire life, done at one frame per month, on a white background.

just over a year? I've been taking a pic of the day for 2 1/2 years ever since I got my first digital camera. Although I try and vary the pictures angles and locales to get a better view of other parts in my life and to make the pics a touch more interesting. Yet by far the most common look is very listless and somewhat depressed looking. I guess that speaks volumes for differences between my life and this guys =P

I guess I should alos add that I enjoyed it and its nice to see a similar project to your own from the outside.

I'm fascinated by this sort of thing.

Here's one with five years timelapse.

Wow, gwint. That link is badass. But his transformation isn't very dramatic. His hair changes color and all. Somebody who is just recovering from or just getting into addiction should take up this project. . .or a serious alcoholic. Or an orangutan.

gwint - isn't that 15 years? That is pretty awesome.

How about this one? It documents a guy's 371 day transformation from flab to buffed. (3mb .mov)

Excellent link, crunch.

What struck me about the FPP link is how he starts off not really smiling, but gets happier. Which is really nice to think about.

I always try to keep the same expression (this is s..l..o..w..), but sometimes a grin peeks out. Or a really bad day grimace. Unwilling to go through the routine of setting up a fabric screen to ensure a consistent background, I am assuming that in 5 or 10 years the software to automatically remove the background will be a simple filter operation in Photoshop when I stitch them into a film.

yeah, but the variety of backgrounds should be part of the project in my (humble) opinion.

Whoops, my bad.

Ahhhh!!!!! That scared me. We have the same name.

For a second I thought your web page had somehow figured out my name. Dark Magic!!!!

crunchland:

Funny thing about your link there - he's plugging my buddy Jeremy Likness, who went through a similar transformation...

The internets make the world a much smaller place.

jesusfuckingchrist tomierna, let us live without that shit.

Wow, punkbitch, at least tell me why you think it shit - the guy really turned his life around.

sorry, tomierna. Look at the time when i posted. . .
anyway, it just looked like another weight-loss ad to me.

No worries, punkbitch.

I will admit that the weight loss and bodybuilding "scene" contains a lot of spammy ad stuff, but Jeremy is the real deal. He does self-promote, but his plan is solid and he honestly enjoys helping people.
