I thought the video was cute but that song was dreadful.

Obligatory Pitchfork nod. Like Peter Gabriel backed by Herb Alpert and Art of Noise. I'm told this is breakcore?

Previously, he used the stage name Donna Summer. I'm officially non-plussed.

I dug it! Listen for the Blood, Sweat and Tears horn samples from their classic, early 70s hit, Spinning Wheel.

Awesome. I'm a fan of Jason Forrest, but didn't know about this video.

Also, I think his songs are made entirely from samples.

this is absolutely incredible. I hear it wsg! there's also a section of the song when the leader of one of the two viking titan transformer (more than meets the eye) robots goes down to see what the marching band dweebs are doing.

I love that they're battling over a trophy for "Awesomest". I wish I had that trophy...

that song was dreadful

early 70s hit, Spinning Wheel

pitchfork has it wrong. that was "go down gamblin'" from bst4, demonstrating that the most rocking song bst ever came up with was still weaker than a moderately weak rock song from a weak horny rock band like chicago.

Jason Forrest himself says here that he sampled multiple Blood, Sweat, & Tears songs on War Photographer:

This is cut up from about 3 of their songs, and cut with more stuff to expand it. Anyway, BS&T fucking rock man. They were progressive in a very grassy way. You always see them in corduroys. This is some how related to why this is called War Photographer. If songs were people, then this would be a late 60’s war photographer with thick dark hair and beard, draped in olive and khaki photographers gear.

This is beautiful. Thank you.

Actually, the Led Zeppelin/Kitties thing made me laugh out loud too. Great thread.
