God Told Me to Bomb Qatar

Bomb Al-Jazeera? The allegation certainly seems rather outlandish, something not even Michael Moore would normally bother repeating. Moreover, it comes from the rather tarnished Daily Mirror. Surely, not even Bush would be as reckless as to seriously consider such an insane action? However, the way in which the British government has gone utterly ballistic at the news of this alleged leak has got all the media hounds sallivating. And if the idea that the current US administration has deliberately targeted journalists in the Middle East wasn't as outlandish as some appear to believe? After all, the Al-Jazeera offices in both Baghdad and Kabul were bombed. By accident?

if it smells like a rat, walks, talks, and acts like a rat, then it is probably a rat.

Here we see the danger of posting a link to the news.

Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system.

If a rat walks and talk... it's probably not a rat.

Although I wouldn't like to put my trust on this mutant rat......

The Christian Science Monitor has a good summary posted that includes links to new stuff at the WaPo and the Guardian.

It is interesting to note that this is the first time that Britain has used some laws to go after a leak and that the spokesman at the White House says that it is unfortunate that the comments were written down, apparently making them is fine.

Think Claudine Longet Ski Tournament:

Jessica Antlerdance: We're running a little late, Tom, so let's just cut to a few highlights of this event.

Tom Tryman: Alright, let's do that.

[ show skiier falling into the snow ]

Tom Tryman: Uh.. here, she mistakenly dropped her gun and it went off.

[ show skiier falling into the snow ]

Jessica Antlerdance: Uh.. here, she was just showing the gun to a friend.

[ show skiier falling into the snow ]

Tom Tryman: Yeah.. I think she was just cleaning her gun here, wasn't she?

[ show skiier falling into the snow ]

Tom Tryman: And, once again, of course, showing the un to a friend.

[ show skiier falling into the snow ]

Tom Tryman: Here, I think she just put the gun down in the snow, and it went off by mistake.

Jessica Antlerdance: That looked almost like skeet shooting!

[ Tom and Jessica laugh playfully ]

Tom Tryman: You must mean ski shooting!

[ Tom and Jessica laugh more sardonically ]

Tom Tryman: Oh, well. This has been Tom Tryman.

Jessica Antlerdance: And Jessica Antlerdance.

... quoted an unnamed government official suggesting Bush's threat was a joke ...

I guess this becomes a credible universal defense once you go so far outside what most people could ever seriously consider.

Ok, so who is finding such a charge beyond the pail? Would readers who think such a statement is not possible stand up?

Anyone beyond PrimusParis?
