Yes! No time elapsed between these two. A new record (low).

What, you jealous your dad didn't get 50 Cent or Don Henley at a party for you? Why is this "wrong, very wrong"?

it's not "wrong, very wrong."

it's "very, very wrong."

these are important distinctions.

We live in a country where it has always been that which is bigger, better, is important and if you can afford it, go for it...if you get engaged, tell your girlfriend that you do not believe in ostentatious diamond rings. That should convince her.

Those guys in the other thread discussing this are suckers. This post is better.

For his estimated $500,000, I hear that 50 Cent performed only four or five songs - and badly - though he did manage to work in the lyric, "Go shorty, it's your bat miztvah, we gonna party like it's your bat mitzvah."

Oh my god.

xmutex: the whole thing is supremely tacky. Obviously huge amounts of money still cannot buy dignity or good taste.

Tacky don't make "very, very wrong."

I'm sure that Elizabeth Brooks has risen above her father's embarassing overspending and is actually a pretty nice girl. Or not. I'm just pissed they didn't invite me. I would have attended for less than $20K.

Probably far, far less.

Yeah, the guys taste in music is apalling but fuck it, it's his money and sounds like a hell of a party.

I think that happened with my Japanese lizard attack video link, too.

I can't believe I actually just wrote that.

It's actually kind of disgusting how much money these defense contractors are making. This DHB company has $226 million worth of contracts with the government and practically the only thing they make is bulletproof vests.

While it's not illegal, I sometimes wonder about the markup these companies sell their products for. It can't seriously be competitive.

"Fitty and his posse smelled like an open bottle of Hennessy," a witness told told me, adding that when the departing rapper prepared to enter his limo in the loading dock, a naked woman was spotted inside.

I thought this was the classiest moment in the whole story.

Reminds me of some kids I taught at a summer program for rich kids. Of all the stories of outrageous excess, I think the bat mizvah stories were the most amazing. One girl's mother made Yarmulkes for all the guests... out of Gucci pants.

Some people's kids.
