Lot more Sad Bastard music on this one than Pitchfork's and their #1 has always been a favorite of mine- waitaminnit, made in 1998?!?

Thanks for this - great post! I will skip the videos of songs I can't tolerate, but there are plenty of guilty pleasures in her, for sure!

I really like Stylus. They seem to be mostly free of the air of "hip" that hangs our Pitchfork like a burrito fart.

It's just a shame that Youtube's resolution is so bad, it really ruins "Let Forever Be". Also, I'm not getting any audio on "089. Kid606 – Sometimes"

Was delighted to see Pulp's Bad Cover Version here as well as on the Pitchfork list. Maybe not the greatest music video of all time, but for me at least, the most enjoyable.

Sad, I've only seen 2 of the top 10 (G Thang and Just). But I think the rest of my personal top 10 were on there. Lots of good stuff, and how awesome is it that you can actually watch the videos right there, right away.

I didn't know before that there was actually a video for one of my favorite songs by the Talking Heads Once in a Lifetime #20. Oh the joy!
I have to admit seeing A-Ha at #4 made me gag a little. Too much PBS in my youth and I loathe that video & song (after seeing it played way too often).

This list is way better than the Pitchfork list, and while I still would have liked to see Pearl Jam's "Do The Evolution" or Genesis' "Land of Confusion", the addition of Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues" kind of makes up for not having those. Allen Ginsberg is a music video super star.

What the hell is it with the Futurehead's cover of Hounds Of Love? Awful, awful version, below average video, dull group. And yet it's seemingly revered.

Where's the top 100 lists of top 100 lists? I wanna know which top 100 list is the number one top 100 list so I know to pay attention to that one and say the hell to all the other top 100 lists about top 100 lists which have top 100 lists in them. I was pleasantly surprised that "Hurt" ranked so high. It's an amazing tour-de-force, the best compilation montage of a man's life I can imagine. (Backed, of course, by a cool song I already liked.)

Forgot to mention my unlisted favorite -- Carpark North's Human (dir: Martin de Thurah). The way it forces you to look at the kids without seeing them as small adults, sensualizing experience without sexualizing it, is bracing.

mrblack, a great video is one that you can enjoy watching even if you wouldn't otherwise listen to the song. There are several of those on this list. I actually like the Jamiroquai song (come on, it's sorta Stevie Wonderish...) but I think if I didn't the video would still be impressive.
