Two videos (second one live) I don't understand in the slightest but which are pretty to watch. (movs)

Pretty to watch, but why the Schindler's List music?

I swear this was just called asdf. Am I going mad? Nice clip - hologram yes?

I emailed the admins to fix it, tellurian. Thx M&J!

Alexander McQueen is one of the most influential English fashion designers. This is his wesite with the clip in the FPP.
More.

It's just some sort of special effect, obviously. They probably had the audience hooked up with an 'applause' sign.

Yeah, I saw the "asdf" in my rss, and I was all "wtf?"

Cool videos, but no context? I wonder if in the live version, did each side of the audience see the same thing, or while she was facing the camera, did the audience behind her see her back?

Post-Google: yes, it appears it was a hologram of Kate Moss. Boing Boinged back in March.

Pardon me:
The technology, while producing a very nice effect, is not technically "holographic" and is known as Pepper's Ghost (wiki look-up).

Clever.

Nice vids, tho.

Seriously, nickyskye, great job with the supplemental links.

Ah! Glassworks.

Very interesting. Hmm. I wish it had been a hologram, though.

pyramid termite, You're delightfully mischievous. And it reminds me of Joni Mitchell's floating music too.

This is the same effect (Pepper's Ghost like blendor said) that the Gorillaz used to perform live at the MTV awards, well technically it was a more sophisticated version of that effect, but anyhoo, here's the video

Wow. Did he present an entire show like that?

Aside from being a genius (if I were a lady, I would remortgage my house in order to wear his clothes) McQueen's shows are always spectacular - he's sent models out into a contained torrential rainstorm, and had car factory robots spraypainting models in plain white dresses.

Also, you have to love a man who, while an apprentice at Anderson and Shepherd, sewed the phrase 'I am a cunt' into the lining of a jacket being made for Prince Charles.

So what, Kate Moss is so incredibly hot that she no longer inhabits the same physical realm as the rest of us?

jack_mo, Amazing story about the Prince Charles jacket.
