the birthday girl got her best birthday ever, she told the newspaper. "I got a stripper and I got to bitch out Naomi Judd," she said.

Considering what her daughter has committed to celluloid, I think it would be in Naomi's best interests to not comment on other people's sexual antics.

You dissin' Ashley Judd aaron? Please tell me you didn't just do that. What has she done that's so bad?

What could be creepier for a teenaged girl than your dad hiring a male stripper for you, and sitting there while he simulates sex with you?

Call me old fashioned, but 18 is now an age of consent and a dad being present is a dad giving a present...if the birthday girl did not object and the restaurant did not object, what the heck?
I can understand a customer (any customer) perhaps objecting, but hey, the diff between a birthday cake and beef cake is just a thrust away.

Aaron must be referring to Wynona, Although Ashley's star turn as Young Crusher's girlfriend on STNG does make me a little ill.

For the record (according to IMDb), Naomi has publicly taken issue with Ashley's movies for their violence and sexual content. You go, mom!

But have you ever had a stripper dance in your lap?
I wish that was my dad! Naomi is getting old. That's
what old people do ... butt into everybody's business.

This reminds me of the 1998 stripper incident in California.

It's the new Bush Era. A kid can't even get a lapdance in a family restaurant anymore.

Ashley was nude in a movie.

So what?

[ reads actual story ]

Yeah, that's word for word what *I* would have said, too.

Well the stripper was't hired to please Naomi Judd now was it?

It still seems inappropriate for a family restaurant to have allowed this to go on in a non-private area. If this was happening where any patron trying to get to the restrooms would've seen it, that's over the line.

According to the Brentwood, Tenn. police report, Judd was dining at Amerigo's restaurant with her husband, Larry Strickland, when she got up from her table to go to the restroom. Along the way, she observed a male stripper straddling a young girl in another part of the restaurant.

"Another part of the restaurant" could mean a private or semi-private room.

A lot of restaurants have slightly-set-off party rooms without shuttable doors or anything to screen them off except other diners' common sense.

"The subject was sitting in the girl's lap facing her and simulating intercourse," said the report.
Stunned, Judd allegedly poked the stripper on the back of his shoulder, telling him to stop as Amerigo's was a family restaurant.

"Family restaurant"? That's also ambiguous. According to their PR flacks, Hooters is a "family" restaurant.

"An 18th birthday is a real special occasion where you get to be an adult, and the discussion of strippers had taken place in our household," the elder Westermeier told The Tennessean. "And we thought it would be something funny."

God, I wish Southern accents translated into print.
