Although I'm not particularly fond of the unwieldy and/or somewhat misleading terms for 20th-Century Classical: new(and unusual) music, avant-garde, modern compositional, or simply 'classical' - The scores can be moving, simply beautiful(short MP3s), challenging and worldly. The list is truly daunting^ for all but the most obsessed. Previous tie-ins: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5(and more I'm sure).

Recent modern classical I've reviewed. (Self Links, the lot) OK. Bach isn't modern, but he's there anyway. Thanks for this post, a_green_man, I was just checking out some modern classical sites yesterday. Good to have some of it filtered. I'd link to more but I don't know where any is, other than my own reviews of stuff!

Wow, most of this isn't really my bag, but I stumbled on these Satie pieces for guitar on the ubu.com (which at first I was disappointed was not the Pere Ubu site), and they are truly awesome. I've only ever heard the piano stuff, and this is just great, so thanks.

(Do you know why there's that big picture of Beckett on the ubu page? Is it just his association with the avant garde?)

There's all sorts of Beckett stuff on Ubu. It's not just music. Besides, Beckett just looks cool.
