Is it just me, or did the Crookes and Geissler tubes page look like the online catalog of an awesome head shop at first glance?

Great stuff — this is what computers should be made out of, just for the visuals. More glowing Geissler goodness at The Cathode Ray Tube Site.

Lovely FPP, thanks a lot for bringing back memories! My grandfather graduated from engineering college in India in the early 1930's and he had a full collection of the "electromechanical" engineering books he used. I used to love "looking at the pictures" :)

What a great site, thanks mediareport!. What beautiful design went into so many of these daily objects. Love those cathode ray tubes and those speakers! I also liked the advertising and ephemera page - scroll down to see Bonzo the Pup, the Crosely Radio mascot - much funkier than the ubiquitous RCA dog.
