What good is an army of cats without armor?

Armor for cats and rats. Well, really it's cats and mice, but that doesn't rhyme as well.Token Samurai Cat Jeff de Boer, the artist (bio here) all links have been coralized to protect the webhost

Dammit. It is a double but it works (where the original doesn't.)

And worse yet, I did an exact search for www.jeffdeboer.com and it came up blank.

I want this for my cat.

Not for me. Is anyone else getting "could not be found" for all of those links?

Ah, if I try it without the .nyud.net at the end, it works, but the links in the post don't.

Wow, these are amazing, filmgeek, thanks. I went looking for the armoured ties and sword-handled briefcases he mentions in the faq and found them at archive.org: armoured ties and corporate viking raider briefcase. He used to make rayguns, too.

Not bad for a farmer.

Yes, I believe it is a double, but I don't give a damn as it is definitely the Best of the Web and should be displayed regularly.

Oh, and all the links work for me.

Echoing mediareport's comment, WOW! These are amazing! Did not expect them to be *that* wonderful but they are. What a fantastic find filmgeek, definitely +fav. Thanks. And thanks mediareport for the additional links. I love Jeff De Boer's sense of humor. Way cool ties and corporate raid briefcase. Ha!

Great links, thanks! THIS is what the internet is for.

Yeah, they're now all working for me. I swear I was getting "URL could not be found" messages a few minutes ago, though. Maybe a temporary coral cache thing.

Coral isn't especially reliable; it's best used when the target is VERY weak. Any kind of reasonably robust web farm will work much better than Coral, in my experience.

The funny thing about this is that I would love to see a cat actually wear this stuff. Because if the experience of my household is any indication, any kind of clothing makes our cats look miserable and fall uselessly over onto their sides.

Which is a shame, because I would love to armor up the kitties and send them forth to do battle with the dogs.

If I could think of a great username-based gag here I'd use it. Unfortunately I am very tired.

Kittens can use the mouse armor.

I specifically used coral (I tried google first) because I was afraid of metafilter either crashing his server or driving up his hosting costs.

Oh gosh, this stuff is good. Thanks for sharing (again).

I can't believe the poster omitted any mention of Miaowara Tomokato. The *real* Samuri Cat, the one who fought Thpaghetti Thauce, among others, to avenge his fallen Daimyo.

Not that the armor isn't cool as all get out, but Tomokato was one of the best things ever.

sotonohito,
Yes, I was about to say... is this about The Samurai Cat books from the 80s by Mark Rogers? if not, then this guy's got some explaining to do, cuz it's damn close in appearance to the graphic novels. I used to love those books when they came out, i was only about 10 but I read the first two.

Well, it was spotty. I'm not sure that's a strategy we want to become the norm here.

The sculptures of Jessica Joslin make good companion pieces to this.
