Sir No Sir! (watch) A powerful documentary about the forgotten (erased from history) story of the 1960s GI anti-war movement. Remember stories of returning soldiers being spat upon at the San Francisco airport? It's a myth Rambo!

NO it's not!!! That is just a link to the trailer. This post is the FULL documentary. Please don't delete this link!

ok . . . the last link wasn't to the trailer after all, but it's been deleted from Information Clearinghouse and the version of the documentary I linked to on Google has twice as much footage as the previous link.

Whether it's a double or not, the second link goes to a 403 page.

I love that documentary, it's time well spent !

Whether it's a double or not, I suggest watching it anyway before it "disappears" too. If I found extra footage of Saddam's execution, a lot of sick bastards would be screaming for more rather than mentioning that it is a double.

Don't beg.

Also, the legacy of Vietnam and the veterans thereof, American & Vietnamese, isn't something that can be boiled down to a few sentences.

Who's trying to do that?

The last two sentences of the entry. They seem to reduce the complex relationship between Vietnam veterans, society at large and the anti-war movement to a simple debunking of a myth. The spitting stories being apocryphal doent neccessarily equate to Johnny Coming Marching Home to a hot apple pie.

Here comes the usual shit-storm!

augustweed, sorry to disappoint, but that's the last thing I want. A complex legacy deserves a nuanced discussion, not sound bites.

Augustweed, you've totally used up your exclamation point ration for this thread.

I predict this post will be forgotten (erased from history).

Here's a great scene from First Blood where Stallone recycles the airport spitting myth. It's still a great scene.
