At first glance I was like "are these all the same hairstyle? Is this some sort of joke?"

But upon further review I saw the different nuances that set them apart.

I have to say, my favorites are the first two and the very last one.

The sight of "Soul-Aid Adhesive Bandages" made me kind of sad. That poor little kid! Finally someone has thought of him!

Interesting how blowups have become the 'fro to the modern uninitiated.

Nice post! Could've done without the embarrassingly crude and decidedly unfunny comments that knucklehead added to the collection of Ebony ads, but, hey, whaddayagunnado? Love the Soul Aids ad: "Now that's what I call flesh colored!"

Those advertisements in Ebony sucked just as hard, and in exactly the same ways, as ads in white magazines. It's the only application of 'Seperate, but Equal' that has ever existed, I think.

At first glance I was like "these are mostly the same hairstyle with different nuances – are they really deserving of a completely different name?"

Those models have the most tightly wound curls that I have ever seen. That or it's the picture. Cause I always see much more relaxed afros, rather than solidly round ones. Did those guys just have really tight curls, or did they get super-permed, or what?

I dig the spiffy flight attendant dude: "I just feel positive, and that seems to infect everyone around me." Maybe he was the real Patient Zero?
