Condom promoting billboard can be seen from local Catholic School. Targeted advertising?

This post was deleted for the following reason: Fox affiliate drums up non-controversy crappy little shock segment? Why is this worth posting? -- cortex

Not that I'm advocating the placement of the billboard or anything, but a friend of mine used to have a bumper sticker that read "Condoms Work Better Than Prayer." (he got physically accosted a traffic lights more than once)

I can't get the video to load, but Fox? Using the word "controversial" about condom ads?

Religious nutjobs get pandered to, film at 11.

If god didn't want us to put condom billboards up across from schools during summer holidays when no children would get a chance to see them and thus drumming up outrage among the not so bright he wouldn't have created AIDS.

At the end of the segment, the reporter says that the sign is being taken down before school even starts for the semester. So, what's the problem?

If what I've heard about Catholic schoolgirls is true, they really don't need any advertisements for condoms.

They've already chosen their favorite shapes, colors and flavors -- and could probably teach the advertising execs a few things about contraceptive selection.

This is just a case of the Billboard company offering a public service (and using a seldom seen/lightly trafficked area) in order to look community oriented, but forgetting the fact that it faces a grammar school... Doh!

Targeted advertising?

Yep. It's Fox, targetting at jittery, social conservatives who spend their days judging others, and usually with inaccurate and horrifically biased information.

I have to admit that condoms are pretty disgusting. It's a shame school children are subjected to advertisements that feature such a disgusting product. And while I'm at it, condoms aren't as bad as those awful erectile dysfunction ads.

That's some highly-targeted advertising.

Sir, I think you've just earned yourself a position in President Bush's Office of AIDS Awareness. Congrats.

If you think that's bad, wait until you see the sign replacing it.

This post is surely eponysterical.

So..just so I'm getting this:

An advertisement was seen by people who don't or won't use the product. Right?

I say this FPP is the epitome of eponysterical.

Targeted advertising?

I do seem to remember there were a lot of priests in "Dot" ... maybe it is directed at them?

Meh. Just further proof, as if any more was needed, that the leaders of the "pro-life" movement don't give a damn about preventing abortions, but care a lot about punishing women for having sex.

Individual people in the movement might actually care about life, but its increasingly obvious that the leadership does not. And personally, I'm highly doubtful that even the rank and file anti-abortion types really care much about preventing abortions. But wow, do they ever care about punishing women who have sex. Give 'em a choice between preventing an abortion and slut punishing and they chose slut punishing every single time.
