Style Change: The long-standing debate on whether to write "Internet" or "internet" is apparently over. Similarly, the Web is now the 'web' and the Net is now the 'net'.
This post was deleted for the following reason: This was like so five minutes four years ago, chuck. -- cortex
Is this a glitch? The articles are all from 2003-4 and the formatting of the posted by bit looks wrong.

The "long-standing debate" appears to have been pronounced over approximately when?
In other current events: does Britney kissing Madonna and then denying that she's lesbian means simply that she's bi? Inquiring minds want to know! And, will Bush recapture his lead from Kerry after the "primary effect" wanes? Tell me do!

By gum, athenian is (mostly)right! I missed the date on the wired article (they linked it here, so... wtf? Why is it still in their most popular category, three years on?).
I did look back through to see if there was another FPP on this subject.
Shit.

the internets are a series of tubes. And if you don't understand those tubes can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and its going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material.

Not your fault, Chuck... Wired is always recycling and dusting off their old stuff and offering it as new in some way. It's why I think of them as a lifestyle mag but certainly not a source for timely reporting.

Why is 'World Wide Web' more official and worthy of capitalisation than 'internet'?
Also, in Finnish, the 'I' in Internet is capitalised. Just fyi.

Not your fault, Chuck...
Cheers for that; I feel a bit foolish. I emailed cortex and told him to delete at will.
