If you use AltaVista's yellowpage listings, you may be letting Alexa know exactly where you live, where you're planning on flying, and who you talk to on the phone. This is so far beyond a simple breach of privacy. This is insane.

A BusinessWeek profile of Richard Smith mentioned a problem with Sprint's wireless phones transmitting the user's cell phone number when connecting to a website. I'm not sure if this is just for Sprint-selected sites or the Web at large.
