Adolf Hitler plans his trip to Burning Man 2008. SLYT. Deal with it.

Hippies stink.
They pretend to be poor, but all of them (yes, all) have trust funds.
They all have names like "Rainbow" and "Fudgie."
They're all hypocrites in some manner.
Jam bands suck.

Just trying to get some things out of the way.

Lasted about 30 seconds, but I'm intrigued by the footage. What movie is this from?

Hey, fucker! Why didn't you post in my thread? You think you're too good for meetups or something?

Fucking Nazi.

Ah, will the Downfall subtitle meme ever get old?

Yeah. It's got old.

Meme over. Everyone out of the memepool.

Overused Hitler footage coupled with stale hippie jokes. = FANTASTIC POST!

It was actually kinda funny - I really didn't see much in the way of the hippie stereotypes noted thus far. Except that Canadian girls are easy, which is true.

Somehow, the only reason to keep watching these Downfall subtitles is the "Don't worry, he's not voting for McCain" moments.

You leave the memepool alone. It's just resting.

What's with these memes out there memeing where I can't see them? When I finally see it and think it's funny, everyone else is already yelling OLDMEME.

BTW, "All your base are belong to us!" Ha! Ha!

And here's the Downfall (USA) website. It was nominated for an Academy Award (Best Foreign Language Film) in 2005.

Film showing Hitler's soft side stirs controversy.

I love this, and it's so accurate---I've experienced a couple of bridezilla-style Burningman planning meltdowns, and this nails it, maybe with slightly less desk pounding. And I'm so glad somebody else posted it.

I've seen about a dozen different versions of the Downfall video. Maybe it's time to add it to my Netflix queue, and figure out which one is real. (I bet it's the iSketch one.)

See, after he asked who was going and I knew the big rant was coming... I assumed he'd been bitching about what horrible campmates those people were. Clean up your own fucking trash and stick around long enough for teardown, assmonkeys, you rode on our goddamn car all week didn't you?

Instead it turns out that hitler is a fucking yahoo. No surprise there I suppose.

Great. Now there is another phrase that replaces "That is all" when a MeFite feels that they don't have the time or wherewithal to craft a more interesting post that annoys me equally as much. Bravo.

clap. clap.

Funnier than it had any right to be, yet not funny enough.

This video sucks, but absurdity reminds me of Norman Spinrad's The Iron Dream, a novel within a novel written as if a young Hitler "emigrated from Germany to America and used his modest artistical skills to become first a pulp-SF illustrator and later a science fiction writer in the L. Ron Hubbard mold (telling lurid, purple-prosed adventure stories under a thin SF-veneer)."

I guess Hitler has become more of a happy-go-lucky free spirit since his days as the preeminent voice of east coast gangsta rap.
posted by DecemberBoy at 1:44 PM on May 21, 2008

As an aside, the Hitler/Biggie video was made by some black kids going by the name of CrackerSchool, who made a bunch of videos specifically targeted to irritate Nazis (including a few with edited interviews with them in the style of the West Virginia/Obama clips from the Daily Show). I can't find their YouTube page now, so it was probably deleted for being "controversial" due to the large amounts of "fuk u niger" comments on their videos. Deleted for being offensive... to Nazis. Good job there, Google.
