Reduce, reuse, Teecycle

There's not a lot of ironically hipsterish clothing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and there's a good reason for that.
However, Teecycle.org sells clothing that is funny and/or cool enough for hippies and hipsters alike. Thrifted or recycled t-shirts (old Pixies concert shirts, Brewers logo shirts) are sold for $7; Of that, a dollar goes to the River Revitalization Foundation. Shipping is an additional $3. The shirts, which are modeled by the site owner and friends, are displayed with interesting stories on how the shirts were found.

Unless I'm reading too much into the post on your blog alluding to the fact that you are friends with the person who created the site you're linking to, this isn't really an appropriate use of Metafilter.

Unless I'm reading too much into...

It's hard to tell with people who favorite their own posts.

This post and the T-shirts are terrible.

that's true -- but a lot of my friends do VERY cool things and i never write about them. teecycle, however, is special for all those reasons i posted about, so i think it works for metafilter. i could just edit my post and put that huge disclaimer [I KNOW THIS GUY PERSONALLY! WAAAH!], but i didn't really think it was necessary.

Also, just to get in before this thread gets shredded, they hand over one buck for every tshirt they find, clean, photograph and ship? This has to be the least efficient way of raising money ever, and therefore calls for The Obligatory Day Today Jam Festival Clip.

We shall bravely go forward, our lives never being touched by the rosy glow that is the extreme coolness of your friends.

lillitot, yes, it's not good to link to a friend's site on the front page, and this will certainly be deleted soon. It might be possible, however, that this is okay for Projects.

(Doin' what I can to lessen the snark in an instance where it's not clear snark is called for.)

And how much of the remaining 6 dollars do you get lillitot?

You clearly have no idea how this site works - those posts were made to MUSIC.metafilter.com - a separate subsite of metafilter. When you take a six year break from a site, it might be a good idea to get reacquainted with how this site works.

I'm sorry, but owning a line of barak obama slogan t-shirts is not a very cool thing. In fact it is a very bad thing.

Though, I've got to agree, the very cool friends don't merit posts. Or teecycle for that matter; the charity is a nice touch, but it's mostly a boring blog.

Did anyone else here waste a few brain cells trying to figure out what the 276-Burger number was before reading the text?
