Most science museums have a display of this that you can actually adjust the speed (of both the strobe and faucet) of. Neat, yes. FPP....probably not.

I saw something like this on a massive scale at Sea World Orlando in the late 1980s - robotic controlled fountains set to strobe and music. Awesome.
