Dave Werner Again

A couple of years ago I made a post about Dave Werner's portfolio site. Now I'm making another one about him, but this time it's about the new game he has coming out. There'll be a presentation on TechCrunch at sometime (3rd presentation) after 10:30am PST Wednesday. If you like what you see, at 11:00am PST Wednesday you can fill out a Beta application survey at Atmosphir if you want to be part of the testing.

All the development pages have been taken down from the Minor Studios site (I believe they'll be restored at Atmosphir once it's up), so this is really just a heads up for the live broadcast. If you miss the live presentation you can catch it on the sessions page.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Posts about something that isn't available yet aren't really a good idea. If there's something cool on the web that exists after whatever happens happens, make a post out of that. -- cortex

There was a web-site with stuff to read, but it's gone now? So, basically this is a post about nothing.

Do you work for this guy's PR firm or what?

I wish! No, I just dig the guys work.
As I said, it's a heads up for the live broadcast. If I wait until the material is up for you to view at Atmosphir you'll miss the live broadcast. Also, if you want to get in on the Beta test you'd need to sign up pretty quick because there will be a lot of people interested in what, I expect, will be a limited group.

Retrospective on one of his other games. Talking about how crappy it was does not fill me with hope.

I'm curious as to whether this guy is currently, or has ever been, a design student.

I'll say his portfolio is a cute way of making a lot out of not much, 'designer-generated content' I believe they would call it these days, but his game design (courtesy BrotherCaine above) ignores some fundamental aspects of game design, such as not being frustrating, not being pointless, and not featuring a lack of gameplay.

Do people still say 'vermal' in public?
