Zimbabwe-style hyperinflation

This post was deleted for the following reason: this is a messy crypitc post to one of those blogs that steals images and smushes them all together with limited context which you have also failed to provide making it an overall bad post for metafilter. -- jessamyn

I am astonished that someone writing point-of-sale/receipt-printing software took care to ensure that it could handle figures in the billions.

I guess it's there in case Mr Burns turns up and buys a left-handed can opener and that sporty roadster, and um, an aircraft carrier.

I'd pay a buck for one of those (expired) 100 billion Zimbabwean dollar notes.

This is a pretty clear example of the sort of site you should avoid linking to on metafilter.

Stolen content, no attribution, massive advertisements.

Also, the font montage going on makes me want to beat the Esteemed and Knowledgeable Webmaster to death with the corpse of the bastard who invented Comic Sans.

Explain to me again why Mugabe gets to be part of the 'Coalition' government?

Is there a flag for "I don't know quite what is going on here but something ain't right"?

Hyper-inflation, that I can understand. A $750,000 note, that takes a certain level of perversity. I can imagine a Reserve Bank goon asking themselves:
Q. So, how can I just make Zimbabwean people's lives more burdensome?
A. Make everyday mental arithmetic harder!

My interpretation is that if you live in Zimbabwe, you burn calories from the effort of carrying gigantic stacks of money when you shop.

Which still doesn't make a lot of sense, and also .... ah nevermind.
