Whopper Virgins Remixed

Whopper Virgins Remixed I was surprised to see how little dialogue came about on MetaFilter following the controversial Whopper Virgins video that Burger King produced. Frankly, the idea of glorifying American fast-food in the way they did is disgusting, but there's a pretty clever remixed version on YouTube that was produced using audio from Deconstructing Dinner. It presents a much needed dose of reality.... including a dope remix of George W. Bush (who's heard speaking the truth....finally). ML

This post was deleted for the following reason: The editorialization in this post is bad; the fact that you've (done work for? been featured by?) Deconstructing Dinner in the past is worse. -- cortex

What I find alarming is that, as a culture, we celebrate when men lose their Whopper virginity, but scorn women who do so. This is a deplorable double standard.

No ... it's a Double Whopper.

When the revolution comes, the Burger King will be the first one flame-broiled.

there is no controversy, that was just a line from the crispin pr pack that was sent to some news agencies. they copied the 'controversy' from it even before anyone had seen the damn commercial.

which sucks, btw.

I should have added: cripin has done some really good work for bk as well: I still love that hot meat in a pouch line.

Next thing you know we'll have kids selling their Whopper virginity on eBay.

I don't know...I didn't go in to Burger King.

I thought it was funny that BK had to go to another country to find someone who actually like their burgers. "This is the best burger I've ever had" doesn't mean much when you've only had one hamburger, ever.

The orginal is interesting and surprisingly respectful (for an ad). Also, Whoppers are pretty good.
