Antonio Belchior

Antonio S. Belchior, 80, of Berkley, MA, died Wednesday at home. He was the husband of Lourdegardia M. (Machado) Belchior. Born in Faja de Cima, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Francisco Da Silva Belchior and Maria dos Anjos Carreiro, he immigrated to this country in 1970. Mr. Belchior worked as a forklift operator for 25 years at Quaker Fabric. He was a member of Santo Christo Church. Besides his wife of 54 years, he is survived by three daughters, Guida C. Carvalho and her husband Luis A. of Berkley; Mary Leticia Machado and her husband Louis of Fall River and Nelia B. Costa and her husband Paul of Berkley; two sons, Luis Belchior and his wife Lina of Berkley and Carlos Belchior and his wife Celina of Berkley; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gil Belchior. His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:45 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Calling hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
