here we go again... Jim Cramer flips out on live TV, again. posted by spish (26 comments total)

This post was deleted for the following reason: We already had a lot of Cramer vs. Stewart coverage recently, we don't need to track the dude's every move. -- cortex

I just have to throw a

"Meh"

in here because if anyone is still listening to windbags like Cramer and this pathetic theater of ego that passes for financial news on CNBC, well I say to you sir, "Meh. Meh! and MEH, indeed."

Cramer must represent something I am unaware of.

Doesn't this dickhole do this on a daily basis? Isn't this kind of like posting, "Rush Limbaugh says something negative and misleading about liberals... AGAIN!!!1!"

Flagged.

There are things I miss about living in the USA. This ain't one of 'em.

At this point, who gives a fuck? Is your next FPP going to be about Bill O'Reily being caught in a bold faced lie, or Dr Phil pretending some random platitudes are his own wellspring of thought? Or maybe about McDonald's selling some burgers, with fries.

Jim Cramer daily bathes in the blood of hundreds of slaughtered newborns while lighting cigars with real, live genuine Cubans anointed with the blubber of a thousand virgin narwhals in a golden font on the back of twelve golden oxen while the endless strangling of puppies and kittens for the purposes of sexual gratification, and I'm flagging this post.

This is MetaFilter, not a Tea Party Sign.

Meh, it wasn't even a good Cramer flipout, either. That's pretty much his go-to defensive personality construct right there. Somewhere out there there's a candid video of him trying to choose what toilet paper to buy. The video is an hour long.

People here are flipping out more than Cramer just did.

No, this is a tea-party sign:

FUCK NO I DONT HAVE NO NIGGER FOR PRESIDENT
SOCIALISM = TRICKLE DOWN POVERTY
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT BUT I WATCH FOX

I'm just desperately glad he's not from Texas, right now.

I have to say though, he does have kind of a point. The S&P 500 is basically flat over the last 10 years. Of course, he takes this to mean we should all invest according to the advice of "experts" like himself, and I take it to mean that relying on the stock market for retirement savings is incredibly foolish. We all got sold up the river when the standard way to save for retirement in this country changed from pension plans to 401ks.

Apparently the statute of limitations has expired on his humiliation at the hands of Jon Stewart.

Cramer: How long after The Daily Show do I have to wait to be me again?

CNBC Producers: 30 days.

Cramer: Yeah baby. It's go time!

How do you know that narhwal is a virgin? They're notorious liars, and forget about any examinations because they'll just impale you.

You don't think that a world famous cetacean molester such as myself isn't aware of the perils of hunting virgin narwhal blubber? Boy, I have holes gored in places angels fear to tread. Next I see you I'll show you old Carl - Carl as in Carlsbad Caverns. I keep a spare handle of gin up in there, and an umbrella. Hell, I don't even need a safety harness anymore. I just slip a rope right through any number of fistula and tie it off. Where you going? You look a little green! Comon, I haven't even unbuckled my pants, yet! Pansy!

clearly: "This is MetaFilter, not a Tea Party Sign."

SPISH: Choose your next words carefully, Leonidas. They may be your last as a MeFite.
CLEARLY: [to himself: thinking] "Stewart and Cramer"?
[Clearly unsheathes and points his sword at Spish's throat]
SPISH: Madman! You're a madman!
CLEARLY: Stewart and Cramer? You'll find plenty of both down there.
SPISH: No man, MeFite or Twitter, no man threatens a messenger!
CLEARLY: You bring the crowns and heads of conquered kings to my city steps. You insult my queen. You threaten my people with slavery and death! And then you have the gaul to post another FPP about Stewart and Cramer? Oh, I've chosen my words carefully, Spish. Perhaps you should have done the same!
SPISH: This is blasphemy! This is madness!
CLEARLY: Madness...?
[shouting]
CLEARLY: This is METAFILTER!
[kicks him into the pit of MeTa]

It's like everyone's been drinking the O'Reilly kool aid of late. But the guy's clearly a douche. I saw no evidence, though may have lain amidst the cuts, as to why he felt the right to jump into that interview, and then to leave without letting the guy give a reasoned response.

I've actually made it a point to watch Cramer a few times since the Daily Show takedown. He seems to have taken the lesson to heart, and now goes after the hype-mongers with a passion. He has a segment called "outrage of the day" where he does unto the industry as Stewart did unto him.

This is along those lines - someone is talking up the old snake-oil of "Index Funds for for your 401k," and then calls out Cramer while doing it. Cramer shows up, and reminds the guy that index funds have taken a complete bath, and have wiped out 10 years worth of your investment since September.

This is a very valuable lesson, and a very important message - diversifying your 401k and other investments is always a good idea. Cramer didn't have the time to hamer that home, but recent viewers will know what he's getting at.

This isn't bad old Mad Money. This is Paul on the road to Damascus, post-lightning bolt... and it's important to hear what he's saying. In good times, invest in index funds, but don't over-invest in them as a magic-bullet, or you'll pay for it come the next crash.

The second video on that page is even more entertaining.

All of the ever excellent Newswipe (Charlie Brooker is like our Jon Stewart and David Simon rolled into one) is available via xthemusic's account on youtube, with the support of Brooker himself.
