The 3 Eddies. Single youtube clip.

This post was deleted for the following reason: I don't think you meant any harm, but blackface is kind of a culturally charged bit of history and just posting some without context and then being cryptic in the comments when people ask you what you were thinking is not a great way to jump into the posting game. -- cortex

Elstree Calling is a very early (some say the first) British musical film with short pieces taken from vaudeville shows running in London at the time, and a few bits allegedly directed by a young Alfred Hitchcock. In case it's not clear, the Three Eddies were African-American. I'm not sure if that makes posting a context-free blackface clip to the front page any smarter. More info is easy to find.

More Three Eddies.

I love it. If we could all dance like that, there would be no more war. Just sore feet.

There's plenty to be said about minstrel shows, but I'm not sure what a context-free YouTube link has to add.

Context being 50 years of the naked lunch at least. I thought Burroughs fans would love it, at least.

Uhhh... huh? I admit I can't remember every detail of that book, but if the 3 Eddies played a part in it it was surely minor. Mind filling us in a little here, Mr S?

Damned if I can find any connection between the two things on Google, either. Yanno, based on your posting history I think you need to maybe do a bit more studying of what makes a good MeFi post...

I really couldn't say if I found the Naked Lunch horrible or beautiful. I guess that's why I loved it.

There is at least one connection between Burroughs and the three eddies that you can't find using a web browser. I thought interestingness was the key to a good post?

Yes it is. Just say wtf you want to say though, that's pretty interesting.

Not that this is offensive, it's pretty amazing tap dancing. I just don't think people should have to use deep knowledge to parse why you posted something.

The three eddies did some incredible dancing.

Thanks for the context free blackface clip and also for the deliberate withholding of information that might provide context.

This is the first time I've seen youtube comments better than mefi's.
