It's Not Alright

Lily Allen, singer ( among other talents,) started a blog this week to decry the effect of 'digital music piracy' on the music business. It was quickly noted that her debut post was largely lifted without attribution. While the 'offended' blogger took the opportunity to question her assumptions about copyright infringement, it was soon pointed out that she was distributing unlicensed music herself, in the form of self-promotional mixtapes, from her EMI-managed website.

Ms. Allen's response has been to shut down the blog (and MP3s) in question. She still has a myspace blog, although that hasn't been updated since before these events. In any event, Ms. Allen is abandoning her music career to concentrate on acting. (Previously)
