We drop laser guided bombs from UAV's daily; Can someone please get our Legislative overlords a PEN? a CRAYON? SOMETHING...

With copious numbers of stories through the decades on our feral leade.., er, fearless leaders drawing "lines in the sand" on everything from Torture to health care reform to wars on Iraq (and post war, warlike limbo in Iraq), there is no drought of people seemingly willing to EMPHATICALLY mildly support the principles that they kind of believe in, sometimes...

Three mild cheers for Meh and mediocrity. Here's to half hearting just about everything that matters... and FIERCELY spearheading hard hitting inquiries into intricate issues of invaluable import... like baseball; officially rebuking and reprimanding people for being rude, and to catch communists (evil ones... like in the movies, not the real ones, they got boring decades ago). And yes, this post really SAYS nothing. It ADDs nothing to any debate. Moreso, it is mildly poorly composed. It doesn't even contain nor convey any kind of opinion or overarching plot.

I say; if any Legislators were reading this, may they now know how we feel about what YOU do.

Why do we insist on leaders being morally and ethically stable (looking at YOU, news stories putting a microscope on salacious sex scandals and such, while ANY sort of foul up or lost money in Iraq are swept away with the "HEY, over here, over here, LOOK at my newspaper, there's a new ipod" news cycles.

As Mr. Rumsfeld may never step in the same river twice... so too a line in the sand will never be in the same place twice.

An issue that Can't be left alone, nor left up to people who just draw and re-draw lines in the sand.... is Global Climate Change(Global Warming being wrongheaded... too simplistic... Both climatological history; and the number of loops and feedback systems in our climate make it MUCH more likely that we will soon experience a much colder style of planet).

Timidity nor Temerity are options. (or are they?)
The early bird gets the worm... but then again; who ever tells the story of the early WORM?
that's it... I'm carving a line in the sandstone...THIS maybe shall be the year of Linux on the Desktop.

This post was deleted for the following reason: nothing personal, but this is realyl better suited for a personal blog - it's heavy on the editorials and a link to google news searches really isn't whaat we're looking for here. -- jessamyn
