You can forget all about that "goat sex" photo thing when there's something as horrifying as this closeup available for public viewing. Good God, he's barely human at this point! All I could think of once it loaded was: "That's just not right."

Every time I see the "is MJ still viable" question, I wonder why they trot this particularl photo out.

SDB noted this a while back.

I forsee a trend arising on /. to hide this photo behind various links. Just imagine, you think you're clicking on goatse.cx and that appears!

As one of my friends is fond of saying, "Michael Jackson was born a black man and will die a white woman."

The caption says it was taken just before he gave a lecture at Oxford.

Michael Jackson? Lecturing? At Oxford? Does anyone else have a problem grasping that idea?

He was obviously discussing the mind-extension dualism as exists in a postmodern media-saturated culture, where ethics are...

Wait, what the hell was he talking about?

You know what always gets me? Those fucking MTV/VH1 weekends dedicated to worshipping this mutilated freak. The pure unadored, unconditional adulation that they shower on him, buying into and supporting his "King of Pop" self-worship.

Yes, Michael Jackson is defnitely in need of psychiatric help, and also one of them robot faces from A.I.

If you want to know what he was talking about, its all here. Make of it what you will.

By the way, Kermit the Frog, Ronald Reagan, Yasser Arafat and Jon Bon Jovi have also lectured at Oxford as has just about anyone you care to think of.

Has anyone else heard the rumor that MJ and Paul McCartney are in negotiation for a remake of "Whatever happened to Baby Jane"?

Michael Jackson is the greatest pop star ever! Listen to Rock With Me and if you have a soul, you'll agree

He may be a great pop star, but his face is still caving in.

He's done some incredible music, and believe me, the kids still think he's great...my 'tween daughter can't wait for a new MJ album. He's still a freak, though, but one with talent (with the right writing & production team).

It doesn't mean much to be the King of Pop when there's no Pop any more. Over the last decade, Top 40 music has finally passed the point where the music mattered. All that matters now is what you look like and what sort of attitude you can give off. The music is secondary, and far more coldly prefabricated and calculated to sell (almost invariably by people other than the performers) than it ever was back when MJ was hot.

If MJ's new album can actually break through the morass of 2001-era crap and become a major #1 smash, he'll totally deserve the title King of Pop.
