De-conversion 2.0

De-Conversion 2.0 is an ongoing video series in which the author explains in great detail and illustration why he is no longer a Christian. I admire his compassion and empathy that a lot of former Christians lack. (Part 0,1,2,3 [part 1] [part 2],4)

Too flame-y. Flagged.

Too flame-y. Flagged.

I would consider this series the least flame-y of it's kind, considering its topic. If you watch the videos, he says (paraphrased) "The only way to convince someone of anything is to see and respect their point of view completely."

This is neat. As someone who gave up on the "god" idea but never really documented the process, this is fascinating. His diction, with...pauses, is a little odd to get used to but worth getting around.

Yeah, I'm with Inspector.Gadget. Sorry. This might have worked two years ago, but I'm afraid metafilter doesn't do this topic well anymore... and if you can't even bring yourself to frame this post in a non-insulting manner, that's not a real good sign.

"The only way to convince someone of anything is to see and respect their point of view completely."

Which is, of course, why you've essentially claimed that "a lot of former Christians lack compassion and empathy".

Wait, what?

Not the series. You.

This is a case study in why editorializing in posts is a bad idea: the discussion becomes about the editorializing, not about the content of the post.

I'm here for criticizing
your editorializing.
that framing ain't so spiffy
plus your grammar's kinda iffy.
