If it makes sense to you, I'll not argue with it.

I saw that and all I thought was, "Yeah, Jerry Orbach -- he was an amazing actor..."

I would have liked it much better that way!!!

It's okay... but the backwards stuff and the black and white jerky stuff was over doing it a little. The Bueller trailer and Scary Poppins remain unchallenged.

That is brilliant, but I think they could easily have worked "I carried a watermelon" in. Also, now I want to subscribe to Postmodern Weekly.

This is better that the Goofy Movie one, but I think most of that is the Badalamenti score.

Yeah Badalamenti makes it.

I just had the Dirty Dancing song stuck in my head. And now this. Dammit.

Eponysterical? And I think the Shining Rom-Com trailer is the best of them all, and, if I remember correctly, one of the very first in the whole "recut a film into a different genre" trend.

Anyway: Artw -- Which Bueller trailer do you mean? There's a few on Youtube.

I'm guessing Artw is referring to Requiem for a Day Off

I wish a bad a machine the either played the Requiem for a Dream them or the Benny Hill theme, depending on the needs of the situation.

Does anyone recognize the tune being played at the very end? It's also in the first radio ad that Bruce Willis' character in "13 Monkeys" hears in the car.

Ehhh. Lame, sorry.

But anyways, this made me realize Swayze would probably have been glorious as Leo in Twin Peaks.

Reminds me of Nora Ephron's The Shining.

That wasn't David Lynch. That was Generic 1990s Horror Movie With A Tiny Bit of Badalamenti.

Loved it, wonderfully done!
Just think if it had been done in a Lynchian way ... shivers.

She's a dancer! But doesn't she look almost exactly like Laura Palmer?

Dear Doreen,

I have spent only a week here, and I'm already exhausted. Filming hasn't started yet. Instead, they have all of us - Patrick, Jennifer, and the extras - training and "getting into character."

Every morning it's the same routine. Sammy, the choreographer, leads us into a cavernous timber lodge, and lines us up. Then the dance music begins. It is always the same; a low rhythmic drone completely absent of drumming or vocals. Sammy is opposed to genital contact, so each man is required to grind on the woman's right hipbone. We wear burlap robes.

We grind. We grind from 5am to 5pm, with one half-hour lunch break. We grind until the burlap burns our genitals so much that we are covered in rashes. And there is no hope for sexual satisfaction - Sammy has a policy that the women and the men cannot speak to each other, must sleep in different cabins, and cannot contact each other for less than a year after the shooting. The sexual tension has driven some of the extras mad.

At 6pm, Patrick and Jennifer's bodyguards force open a path through the extras, so they can walk to their trailers, and to their treasured privacy. We extras have no such privacy. Every action is monitored. When the men have to piss, they use outdoor urinals that are specially retro-fitted to allow for erect urination.

On Wednesday, they woke us up as usual and lined us up in the hangar. Johnny was nowhere to be seen. A short conversation by the shrimp bowl revealed to me that he had been caught jacking off in the bushes the previous night. Another extra, Tim, has suffered an infection on his genitals and had to be field-treated. He now sits on the sidelines in a burlap loincloth.

Sammy has informed us today that we need another week of training. He says the filming will begin soon after, and the droning music will be replaced by happy dance music. I don't know if I believe him. The sexual tension has already reached a fevered pitch. Pray for me.

With love,
Teddy
