Lovely photos of Chinese ethnic groups

When we say "Chinese" we usually refer to the Han Chinese ethnic group, which comprises some 92% of the population of mainland China (and is considered the largest ethnic group on the planet). For a glimpse of the ethnic diversity of China, check out this lovely collection of photographs of the different officially recognized groups (Mongol, Uygur, Korean, Yao, Tu, etc) all in their traditional garments. I've always found it interesting how countries have sometimes large numbers of different ethnic groups and cultures that are quite distinct from the "dominant" society and are sometimes completely unknown by us foreigners. For example, the Ainu of Japan aren't what many of us would recognize as Japanese, ant then there's the Italians in Brazil and also the Afro-Mexicans.
