Live Motion BETA by Adobe is open to the public. Looks like a nice tool.

A friend and I have been wondering who will do the first weblog built with SVG (scalable vector graphics, the new W3C standard that Live Motion is supposed to use). Any takers?

Live Motion exports to Flash as well as SVG. I read somewhere that Adobe's backing off from SVG a bit, and realizing they're quite a bit late to the Web-vectors party. I doubt it'll ever get as strong of a hold as Flash, as much as I'd like to see that happen.

Ever since Macromedia "opened" the Flash file format ages ago, I wondered when someone else would make an authoring tool to replace the crappy Macromedia one. I'm glad Adobe finally has.
