Well, Facebook and Dumbya do have similar privacy policies for us.

Ah, a link to a Facebook page doesn't make a good post. Sorry.

He's going to regret this when his dad sees those drunk frat party pictures.

This post would be synonymous with the statement "George Bush has an intern publicist."

George Bush has an intern publicist.

Yeah, but... Why?

Does Obama have a Facebook page? Will Dubya and Obama become friends? How many heads will explode in the Tea Party movement if that happens?

What's strange is that I misread this as "George W. Bush ruins Facebook", and it amounts to the same thing.

clarknova: George Bush has an intern publicist.
twoleftfeet: Yeah, but... Why?

Ex-prezzies are businesses. They keep the brand alive through books and speechifyin' an' such.

orthogonality:Well, Facebook and Dumbya do have similar privacy policies for us.

If only we had some sort of Constitutional scholar in the White House. Things would be very different indeed, I imagine.

GeorgeWBush: yeah so if you ever need info about anyone in DC like plame or her husband
GeorgeWBush: just ask.
GeorgeWBush: I have over 100000000 a whole lot of pics and shit
[Redacted Cheney]: What? How'd you manage that one?
GeorgeWBush: just rolled over and gave it to us
GeorgeWBush: i don't know why.
GeorgeWBush: They "elected me"
GeorgeWBush: Dumb fucks.

But Bush has been avoiding all that. He doesn't need Facebook, he could be on Oprah.

If only. Well, maybe in 2012. President John Yoo does have a nice ring to it.

It's not even a profile, it's a page. No friends, just fans. BBC needs to get with the times and learn the lingo.

George W. Bush does not have any upcoming events.

Well, that's something to be grateful for.

Apparently you can't comment on his profile unless you click to "Like" him. Considering that's a virtual kiss of death to pretty much everyone except for true-believers, it leads to an environment that is de facto limited to supporters.

Not unlike most of his public appearances as president.

If he runs true to form, within two weeks his farm will be a bottomless smoking pit out of which can be heard the shrieks of the damned and the howls of faceless eldritch abominations.

I am surprised to see this as a FPP on the blue. The content and minimal information almost seems designed to illicit snarky remarks. Me, I couldn't care less about either the ex. Fuck him. Die nameless. And to a somewhat lesser extent, fuck Facebook as well.

Of more importance (to me) is how Facebook determines who is G. W. Bush. I mean, it's not like they are doing what their mother and/or father, Google, did, which was to let the folks on the internet decide who was who. I am sure there have been a zillion applications for that name. For an organization to identify one out of the thousands as the true G. W. implies some sort of cooperation on whatever level. And cooperation, with regards to internet entities, is something I've yet to be convinced is not something to be feared.

Yes, I realize how batshit insane that might sound but have you looked at the internet? If you are not a batshit insane navigator (and, perhaps, even if you are) you will be lost to the waves of chaos that are falsehoods, memes, and historical re-remembrance. If you are a true navigator, then release your third eye and use the light of the emperor to guide you out of the fuck-all that is the internet.

Pretty much right and I apologize. But George W. Bush has a Facebook account. That still seems hilarious to me..

But George W. Bush has a Facebook account.

No he doesn't. As far as we know he still doesn't know how to use a computer. He does have a fan page that seems legit and maintained by an intern publicist.
posted by keijo at 3:00 AM on June 3, 2010 [1 favorite]

As if Sarah Palin could boot off an external drive.

Mark my words... Bush is back, and deadlier than ever!

You probably didn't notice Laura Bush because she's a ninja.

She blends into her surroundings just like her ninja training taught her.
Is that some kind of hipster ironic speak for "Laura Bush looks like a Dog"? That's really not fair, she had no idea how much of a fuckup he would be when she married him. Obviously if she had more foresight she'd have run over a different boyfriend.

pretty much fucking everyone....

Ahhh...you didn't even click on the picture, didya? Today, I proclaim you, "too hard, didnt click".

I only saw two pictures, one of which was gwb by himself, and another with Laura and the dogs. So I have no idea what you're talking about.
posted by delmoi at 3:34 AM on June 3, 2010

I believ hal_c_on may be making a humourous reference to the fact Laura Bush's clothes are the same colour as the wall, and she appears to be a floating head in a window...

Never mind, hal_c_on, I thought it was amusing...
posted by sodium lights the horizon at 3:46 AM on June 3, 2010

delmoi: her clothes makes gesture towards clothes look like the wall behind her makes gesture towards wall. They are both makes 'airquotes' gesture brown. The suggestion is that Laura is surreptitiously using camouflage, like a ninja. That is all.

When the actual, literal (former) President of the United States of America joins a social network, you know it is completely and utterly over.

Well, you don't expect ninjas to just show themselves. You can vaguely make out the shape of a human body on the right of the picture, but I'll admit that it took me a while before I saw her.
