Meh. Not that funny. Have some Deadwood pancakes, instead.

You sir, are wrong.

Hahaha.

"Does the NASCAR app include Jimmie Johnson?" "Yes. " "F*** yes."

"It f'n prints money. " "I DON'T CARE."

I was all ready to criticize the general style of this (not a big fan of the weird, disembodied voices) but those were pretty funny.

As a side note, I just waited in line today for about 4 hours to get an iPhone 4 (got the last 32GB in the store, too!) and I love it, but having options that are actually strong competitors to the iPhone is beneficial to all. Keeps Apple on its toes and gives everyone an option for a decent smartphone, regardless of which carrier they're locked in to.

I fail to see the humor in just rattling down a list of insults that seem to come out of troll posts from engadget or gizmondo iPhone vs Android discussion threads.

iPhone over an HTC Evo...

The Apple rep sounds like Lilith Sternin from Cheers!

iPhone/iPad/iPod/Apple threads have been posted with increasing frequency, and I'm curious at what point this single topic will occupy over fifty percent of the front-page content at any particular time. And whether Craig Shergold buys us all trips to Disneyland after we break the world record for Apple-related posts.

When the other 50% is occupied by Lady Gaga FPPs.

MetaFilter: all iPhone/iPad/iPod/Apple and Lady Gaga every day of the year.

Cool! You got the one with the bigger G Bs!

I don't know why this is funny, it just is... "It's more cus-tom-is-a-ble..."

Does this mean I have to keep my Zombie Blackberry because neither of these phones is any fucking good?

I love the voices that Xtranormal uses, especially the female one that sounds permanently pissed. Another favourite.

Well written and funny, but I couldn't make it all the way through either video. Seriously dude, if you're not confident enough in your voice acting to do it yourself, the answer is not to make your computer read the lines in a barely comprehensible stilted robotic voice. It's especially daft given that the script would make a pretty good webcomic. Now where could he find someone who draws one of those...

Really? Is there something past the awful delivery you get doing it like this that makes it funny, cause if so, I can't make it past the awful fucking delivery you get doing it like that.

I saw this last night on Facebook, but the characters were different. I think it's just some "cartoon generator" where you type in the text and it uses a speech synthesizer and pre-made characters?
posted by drjimmy11 at 1:56 PM on June 29, 2010

Oh no wait it is the same characters- I saw the second video last night.

I like the way each antagonist rejects each phone in favor of the other because the network sucks. "Evo? Sprint sucks!" "iPhone? ATT sucks!"

Is there something past the awful delivery...

No, I think you may just have it there. Still funny, though. Though, maybe not so much tomorrow...

The end of the video on Facebook advertised some website and said, "if you can type, you can make a cartoon," so I suspect that is why they "did it this way" - all they had to do was type in the words and it made the cartoon for them with pre-created characters.

Yeah the version I saw earlier today ended with a link to the text to "movie" software. It is xtranormal.com.

The repeated I don't cares were funny. Kinda fell apart by the end though.

Manufactured outrage is funny, but it's a lot less funny when people actually believe this stuff.
