If lolstalker pages are wrong, I don't want Metafilter to be right. Can't we just pretend it's a regular guy with a good sense of humor and too much free time?

This is not valid JSON, and he should know better.

I'm 1000% sure this is a parody and not an actual crazy person.

As someone who doesn't think severe mental illness (or being obsessed over by a web-savvy disturbed person) is funny, and who is cringing for "Marcy", I'm flagging this.

For the gullible: I'm pretty sure this is a joke - the CSS is way too neat in comparison to the faux-sloppy HTML.

PS obviously "web-savvy" in this case just means, able to harass publicly via web 1.0.

Ha ha ha....we're just laughing at someone PRETENDING to be severely mentally ill! Unflagged.

Prince is right. The Internet is so over.

I'm leaving.

Fake crazy is always instantly detectable. I think it's actually impossible for a person who's not crazy to create real crazy.

availablelight - I'm not justifying the link in any way. It's been shown over and over that many Metafilter commenters can't spot an attempt at parody/satire/hoax. Sometimes, I am one of them. I wanted to point out, before people got too worked up about promoting an actual stalker, that the site was in all likelihood not actually about stalking Marcy. Of course, just because it's a parody or whatever doesn't mean it's linkworthy, and the SomethingAwful connection should rightly concern us.

So, is Marcy OK?

Motherfucker. Where are my keys?

The correct use of apostrophes mixed in with all the incorrect spelling confirmed its fakeness to me. I still liked it though.

I am 1000% sure this is pretty funny, but then I heard there was a something awful connection which means it definitely installed a trojan in my computer that makes me look at gay porn and thats how my computer caught herpes in the first place. Plus that horse I bought wasn't actually worth shit. Fuck.

What does this mean?

I thought it was pretty clear - I don't personally like these SA attempts at memes because I'm an old curmudgeon*. It should concern the Metafilter community that our "involvement" (by posting the link) could fuel it further. Maybe we (as a community) are OK with that, maybe not. I don't know, maybe we mod the title to say "fake", but I know TPTB are loath to do that, for good reason.

*I also find humor based around "crazy people are funny" to be mostly distasteful.
