"It was my intent to write about a flawed society, not utopian, that I nonetheless see as a step forward. It was also my intent that careful, thinking readers would violently disagree with one another about whether it represents a step forward or not."

Benjamin Rosenbaum (previously) - who has been a finalist for the Nebula Award for Best Short Story as well as BFSA and Hugo Awards (nominated stories, released under Creative Commons, linked) - has published his latest foray into speculative fiction in Shareable (which, in his words, is "sort of like what a glossy lifestyle magazine would look like if it were designed to encourage people to discard and scavenge things rather than buy them, to share rather than consume"). It exists in the same world as his Nature-published story Falling. He also documented his return to Frankfurt 2060 and "The Free Society".
