CAPTCHA comics: for when typing two words just isn't enough.

Many many more in this thread, which is occasionally NSFW.

Also: how CAPTCHA is used to scan books.

I loved the "cool wavy words" one, weird and fun.

What really separates humans from computers is that humans make comics out of Turing tests.

This is great. I really love getting bizarre two-word captchas. My favorite so far: "nevertheless skulls."

I think these started it.

This is great.
One of my friends took a couple classes from the guy who invented these things. I hope he passes this along.

I saw this on Reddit recently. I do like them and think a lot of them are quite clever, but [NOT THREADCRAPPIST] I really am sick of stick figure and MS Paint "comics." Of course, I know a lot of these came from 4chan and are just for a moment of fun and not some poor kid's serious, unironic attempt to be the next XKCD or MS Paint Adventures.

These are hilarious. The best captcha I've come across read, "freakish that." I read it like a haughty Englishman.

Kudos for finding humor in the annoying captchas which I HATE HATE HATE. Especially the ones that are so ornate they can't be decoded.

Fun fact is the bot only knows the first word -- if you don't mind messing with Google's book-decoder, you can write whatever you want for the second word.

They totally dropped the ball on "crook things." In panel two he's supposed to look to the left, then to the right on panel three, then back to the left on the final panel.

Actually, it knows one of the two words, but it doesn't tell you which one. And reCAPTCHA has nothing to do with Google.

Whoops... it says right there that Google bought them last year. Never mind...

I think he's putting on a second pair. See, in the 2nd panel he's getting them out of his pocket.

read this post last night, thought they were (for the most part) hilarious. went to log in today, had to enter a captcha and thinking back to these comics made that the slightest bit less annoying. Thanks!

If you look through several pages of the tumblr blog, you'll see the other guy pop up a lot. I'm not familiar with his memestory either.
