Documenting his own cancer treatments with his pinhole camera Gregg Kemp is not only brave but visionary. One of the main pillars in the pinhole photography movement for many years, Gregg is now on a new journey with uncertain results who has decided to take it head-on with setting up a pinhole camera in each surgery which exposes throughout the entire procedure producing a single unique photograph as testament to his hope.

62 year old emergency physician John Hall and his wife Jane took off on a Bike Ride Around America to promote cancer awareness. They started on April Fool's Day, and completed their 12,000 mile journey around the perimeter of the country just today. Along the way they encountered hundreds of towns and thousands of friendly people, and a few not so nice. All in all, a pretty amazing accomplishment in my book.

A young mother and her son's losing battle with cancer in twenty photographs. Renee C. Byer of the Sacramento Bee is the winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Feature and deservedly so. Showing Off a Little (Inner) Cleavage. Author Geralyn Lucas wore bright, red lipstick to her mastectomy. "It was my way of saying I knew I would still be a woman when I woke up with a blood-soaked bandage where my breast used to be... women have sacrificed breasts and hair to try to save their lives. We have traded in our beauty for some kind of cure. But something strange often happens when we lose the bling — the big boobs and big hair — of womanhood. We're left with what I call 'inner cleavage,' and no plastic surgeon can sculpt it. It is the beauty that exists when everything else has been stripped away".

A pinhole photography buff documents his second cancer experience. The straightforward narrative is very striking, and the photos, while sometimes off the strict topic, build a picture of a real person.

"I got to do nearly everything I wanted, up to the very end." Today, the Florida Times-Union published the last entry in the cancer journal of Tara McParland, a news photographer who died Nov. 21 at age 33.
