"Toby Hockley was on the 100-mile Boudicca Sportive ride in Norfolk when he says he was struck by a car and flung into a hedge. The driver didn't stop. Hockley emerged from the hedge, sore but intact. It sounds like a run-of-the-mill depressing incident from the UK's roads. But the shocking part came later. Hello. DJ Flula (who's commentary on English idioms was discussed previously on MeFi) has discarded the conventional wisdom that the best place to make your recordings is the bathroom, choosing instead to record in cars. Because he shuns the use of pre-recorded audio when making his "AUTO tunes" tracks, many of the videos, such as this cover of Psy's Gangnam Style, begin with him laying down the loops that he uses for his background tracks. They also test the limits of how much DJ equipment and musical instruments can be crammed into one vehicle and still be usable, as shown in his rendition of Thrift Shop by Macklemore (NSFW, Explicit Lyrics). He will also ride along with other passengers, as evidenced in his video for Seven Nation Army that he made with his parents, and this cover of Bel Biv DeVoe's Poison in which he colaborated with Turquoise Jeep, instead of riding in one. The Monopoly game has used the same 8 "base tokens" (car, thimble, boot, scotty dog, battleship, top hat, iron, wheelbarrow) since the 1950s (with a few extras added to "Deluxe Editions"), and since it's been 15 minutes since Parker Brothers' last promotion, they're doing internet voting at their Facebook page to "SAVE YOUR TOKEN". In "American Idol" style, the one with the fewest votes will be replaced by the top-vote-getter among 5 "New Tokens" (robot with mustache, big-ass diamond ring, cat, helicopter, awkwardly-balanced guitar). So far, Scottie Dog has a third of the votes (take THAT, cat people), while Whellbarrow and Absurdly-Oldfashioned-Iron are bringing up the rear. Nissan's Batmobilelike DeltaWing in collaboration with Dan Gurney's All American Racers and others is car initially made to be the new IndyCar but ultimately made to contest the 24 Hours of Le Mans and possibly American Le Mans using half the amount of tyres and fuel as any car. It managed to run for 6 of the 24 hours before being taken out in the race.

Unfortunately Chevrolet, which produced more GM products than any of its other divisions, convinced the GM board of directors to cut the Oldsmobile project. Most recently the 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 fetched an all-time record at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, with a winning bid of $3,240,000 (including bidder's fees). This General Motors concept car generated a lot of interest followed by a fierce bidding war to become one of the highest selling cars ever at a Barrett-Jackson auction. The Oldsmobile F-88 is considered to be one of the most significant concept cars ever created by General Motors. As a rule, Concept cars, including design plans and specifications were destroyed, once introduced to the public in shows like GM's Motorama Shows. The Oldsmobile F-88 was considered superior to the Corvette and Thunderbird of its time. The F-88 boasted a robust V8 engine coupled to a 4 speed hydromatic transmission mounted in a light weight chasis. If featured full power windows and locks and unique forward looking style. The spare tire was hidden in the rear bumper to enhance styling and improve safety while providing easy access. Just one of many design innovations introduced on the Oldsmobile F-88.

Fun fact: The Chrysler ME Four Twelve is considered the most advanced concept car to have come out of Chrysler (and this is in the midst of huge financial difficulties!). It looks great, even though it took less than one year for design and development. Powered by a huge V-12 engine (and yet one of the lightest, as it's made out of aluminum) producing 850 horsepower. Top speed is estimated 399 km/h, which is in the league with the Bugatti Veyron.
