I'm the world's oldest wing walker. I was 82 when I performed my first wing walk – standing on top of a plane while it's in flight. Looking back, that seems relatively young.

Party (and schedule appointments) like you're Stan Lee and it's 1975

If you haven't hung your calendars for 2014 yet, why not take advantage of repeating dates and use the 1975 Mighty Marvel Calendar -- featuring important milestones like Sal Buscema's birthday, the exact moment fans started protesting Dr. Strange's first costume change, and all the Doctor Doom appearances a mortal mind can handle?

The Delivery Plan Is Just As Interesting As The Content

Badass Digest reports on the next step in Marvel's ongoing cross-platform adaptation of their comic book properties to video media. Another example is that ABC's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will apparently crossover with both the new Captain America and Thor movies, the later of which has also garnered some positive coverage from Badass for reasons other than the crazy aggressive experimental delivery plan.

A first look at Man of Steel 2, through the eyes of a fan

As soon as it was announced that Ben Affleck would play Batman in the sequel to the Superman reboot, twitter-ers were a-flutter with jokes and bemoaning the choice, and YouTube user started putting together a Man of Steel 2 Comic Con Teaser Trailer, in the style of the original Comic Con MOS audience recording. YouTube user soylentbrak1, aka "Steve," recently released a slightly longer, cleaner version of his fan-made trailer, pulling from 20 different video sources, including features of the rumored role of Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor . If you like that sort of thing, soylentbrak1 also made a Mad Max: Fury Road trailer and over 100 other short clips in tribute to films, franchises, and dreams of what could be.

Human cormorants and dolphins

Tony Stark style daredevils "flying" over, under and through the water (SLYT) This video (warning: annoying music) gets off to a slow start, but then the air ballet begins and the people turn into cormorants and dolphins. Enjoy!

Legend of the Golden Tweezers

Their universe-wide reboot only weeks away, DC Comics has released 52 new logos for their books; they've been met with some praise and much griping. But what makes a good superhero logo? Maybe the design history of Daredevil (parts 2, 3, 4), The Hulk (parts 2, 3, 4), The Atom, (parts 2, 3), World's Finest (parts 2, 3, 4, 5, ), The Legion of Superheroes (parts 2, 3, 4, 5, Batman (previously) or Superman can shed a clue. A good comic... good enough.

Frank Miller is titan of comics, whose noirish take on superheroes in the 80s has been hugely influencial. But back in 70s Miller was just an aspiring artist showing off his portfolio to Neal Adams, who proceeded to rip him him a new one.

I smell expensive perfume... I'm standing on some sort of fur rug. There's music... I must be in the Playboy Mansion!

Stan Lee has not yet been told about ... GRIT! FEATURING -- Dourdevil, the man without a sense of humor (different presentations of the same comic). The year was 1983, and Alan Moore was spoofing the style of Frank Miller (bibliography), towards the end of Frank Miller's run with Daredevil. Moore thought highly of Miller, if one believes what Moore wrote in "The Importance of Being Frank" (linked therein as a .cbz file), which was published in the same comics magazine run as Grit! The nearest to being alive.

Dare Devil Alma Skinner started riding the Wall of Death at the age of 18, doing the same tricks as the men (including her future husband, Skid Skinner). Hear her reminisce -- she did it "for money reasons." [Real Media grumble.] She died in 2008 at the age of 98. [more inside]

Butte, Montana's least favorite son: Evel Knievel

What does it feel like to crash? "What the hell do you think it feels like? Christ almighty. It hurts." Evel Knievel was the original Jackass and now he's living out his days like most elderly retirees in Florida: tired, cranky and on oxygen.

Racing freehanded up a cliff face

Short film of climber Dan Osman scaling Lover's Leap in California without ropes, racing over 400 vertical feet in just under four & a half minutes. Link goes to direct wmv download. Having never heard of Osman before, I was shocked to find out that his daredevil ways led to an early death when a rope snapped while Osman was performing a modfied form of bungie jumping in Yosemite back in 1999.

When headlines go bad (Part the Nth)

When headlines go bad (Part the Nth) With a headline like, "Daredevil Carried From Ice Cell After 2-1/2 Days," you'd think it was about Matt Murdock, Marvel Comics' Man Without Fear (tm), after a fight with Mr. Freeze... But no, just some guy in an ice block for a publicity stunt. Shame, really...
