The "Florida Recount Abandoned" story is a hoax. (Scroll down to the bottom three grafs.) See also Kausfiles 10/15 for corroboration.

from the front page of CNN: "....Circuit Judge...has scheduled a....hearing to issue a ruling on whether Florida Secretary of State....used her best discretion in deciding...." And my question for the legal experts here: how can a judge rule on matters of discretion? I thought Marbury vs. Madison dealt with a similar situation and that courts didn't decide political matters.

80% of newly found votes in the recount are for Gore. So either the inital vote count was biased for Bush, or the recount - which is being much more closely watched - is biased for Gore. (Or it's just a funny coincidence. Also, monkeys might fly out of my ass.)

Bush could ask for Iowa recount / Des Moines Register web site uses something other than ASP/WinNT
Describes possible moves and legal requirements for a recount in Iowa. Did you know that there's nothing in the Constitution about voting for president? A new state could come up with some other method of choosing electors!
