The late Tony Wilson’s headstone, as designed by Peter Saville. “Factory Records founder Anthony H. Wilson died in August 2007 [MeFi previously]. Just over three years later, a memorial headstone – designed collaboratively by Wilson’s long-term associates Peter Saville and Ben Kelly, with Paul Barnes and Matt Robertson – was unveiled in the Southern Cemetery in Chorlton-Cum-Hardy, Manchester.” A 2001-like Modernist monolith for a scion of Manchester, the “Original Modern.”

I Leave You With These Words: If you've ever thought about making a will, why not devote some time to composing your epitaph? It'll probably be the last people will hear from you. The Epitaph Browser is full of good and famous examples and might give you the push you need to get cracking. There are far too many to read and I just looked for writers I liked, but my favourite is from a gentleman resting in peace in Nova Scotia:
Here lies Ezekiel Aikle, Age 102, The Good Die Young.

When I Die I Want... The whole world to dance? Stop in its tracks? No one to notice? Everyone else to die too? Or will a simple deleted MetaFilter thread do? It's not only control freaks who have an idea of how they'd like their own funeral to go. Matthew Parris, for instance, wants a trial with a counsel for the prosecution, as well as the obligatory one for his defense... [Cultural attitudes to death vary wildly and convey different images which may or may not exactly reflect the predominant attitude towards life. Well, for making your own very particular arrangements, despite the gruesome sideshows, The Sepulcher and The Dark Side Of The Web are two resources to die for.]
