Kinpira is a shockwave-game where you play a baby samurai out to rescue his mother. You run around a 3d landscape, all of which you can pick up and throw, once you grow strong enough to lift it. To start with you're picking up vases and other light items but soon enough you're lobbing houses around and eventually entire mountains. It's vaguely reminiscent of Mario 64 and Katamary Damacy.

The bad news is that you're controlling a lone, unarmed tank against countless enemies, and your fuel is limited. The good news is that you're completely indestructible, and can destroy the bad guys by hurling your own tank into them.

Plupon is a shockwave game. The object is to match up 3 descending numbered spheres so that they make up either 10 or 20. Click on the spheres to add them together. There are 7 levels.

Escape from Detention. It's the last day of school (well, yesterday was, technically) and you've been not just locked but trapped in the detention room; framed for a crime you didn't commit. You've got to get three crazy Canadjun youngsters out alive; but you can only succeed if you work together. Can you point and click your way toward victory? This game's fairly straightforward, but there are a few puzzles to make you scratch your head. Just about the right difficulty for a lazy Saturday afternoon. Found via
jayisgames (thar be spoilers in the comments at that link).

njam ... all you have to do is rotate the circle in the middle so it matches with the color of the spheres that come in from the corners. seems simple enough ...

despite an 11pm curfew imposed by your girlfriend, you have returned home very late from a drink fest with your mates. You've forgotten your keys and you must now gain entrance to your flat and get into bed without upsetting your light sleeping girlfriend. [note: shockwave, alt link <--- nsfw banner ads]

Friday Flash Shockwave Spy Bot. "You work by fighting DataBattles, in which you deploy and maneuver programs to defeat opposing software on the memory grid." Good wholesome fun, and highly addictive.

Collage Machine from the National Gallery of Art. Click images to add; drag into place; click the green tab to bring an element forward, click red to send it backward; use the controls at the bottom to resize, flip, rotate and fade elements; see if you can ever, ever stop.

Those of you with crazy multi-tasking skills might want to check out

Frivolous Fun for Friday (although not quite lighthearted…) As an avid Gorey fan, I couldn't pass up posting these interactive murder mysteries. Shockwave required.

Sorry to post a shockwave.com link, but
Groove Blender 2 has eaten away almost my whole morning. Drag and drop blocks onto the canvas to create your own grooves- the downloadable version includes many more beats and the option to export your groove, or save it to Shockwaves servers. Anyone know of something else this simple that is simlar but allows you to import others grooves?

The
Try Group's site uses a simple Flash "game" to deliver their central idea: that children should be encouraged to look at the world in different ways. There's a little
more info at the developer's site.
Neat concept, and also just fun to poke around in for a little while.

New Addiction? You bet. 3-D Pong using shockwave. It's pretty sweet. I feel like I should be listening to the soundtrack of "Tron" while I play it.

warning! addictive stuff! Pictionary. IRC-like chat. Mix both ingredients. Serves up to 10 people confortably. Addictive when some colleagues in the same room are playing with you. Last warning : this will make productivity rate in the US economy go down (and possibly the interest rate will go up...)

Everybody can be a rock star First there were guitarists, then there were people playing the keyboards. Now with your keyboard you can play the guitar. Don't forget to thank the
Rockschool when you pick up that Grammy.
