Minecraft is a multiplayer block-based sandbox game. It's built in Java, so no installation is required (except for Java). Reddit already has their own server; why don't we? Via the Indie Games Weblog. Sounds and (apparently) new game modes are coming soon.

Reset Generation : made by the makers of Trials 2, it's a web and mobile game that mixes advance wars and puzzle games. Rescue the Princess! Fire your Cannon! Beat your enemies! If you can go past the parody graphic (which feels a bit childish and forced) and the small playing screen, there's an awesome complex game awaiting you. Nokia is also releasing the assets of the game, allowing anyone to do flash games, videos or art using the characters of the game.

Friday ~~Flash~~ Java Fun - 'Building Houses With Side Views' Entertaining Java game/exercise/doodad. A nice little Java game/exercise/doodad where you place blocks in a three-dimensional grid so as to match three different projections. Then, for maximum points, you try to find the minimum number of blocks that will solve the problem. Twenty puzzles in all. Perfect for wasting half an hour.

this childs game (java applet) is so complex you could use it to construct a computer. the original paper (postscript), is heavy going - if you're not a compter science student but would like to understand more try this wonderful book by one of the authors (example pictures).

Jigzone - Another great place to waste time at work. The page features a java applet that lets you put together different jigsaw puzzles. I just started working tech support this week and the first day the person that was training me told me about this site. So far it has saved my sanity many a time.
