Touch screen. Awesome graphics. Online community. No, I'm not talking about the latest handheld device to hit the market, I'm talking about Control Data's PLATO system. [more inside]

Sumo Volleyball - online competition at its finest. Yep, Friday flash fun on Tuesday. For those of you who used to have ICQ, this game will be very familiar. Four different variates of play are offered. 1 on 1 is by far the favorite and the most fun, IMHO. One tiny downside, activeX based, and thus, pretty much IE only. There are also other games via the home page, of which Kung-fu chess is also very popular.

I want some m#%$fu#%in chocolate milk! [google video - course language] If he played with his mother, he'd never talk to her like that. Maybe the kid is addicted, maybe he's just a spoil sport.

At the recent Digital Games Research Conference held at the University of Utrecht, Netherlands, Florence Chee and Richard Smith presented a paper on Everquest and its implications for addiction policy. Here's the full text and a decent summary here.

Halo is probably the most well known and successful of games for the Xbox, but less well known are the scores of Halo movies that take advantage of its excellent graphics and physics engines. From the classic Warthog Jump to the cover of Asshole and the Red vs Blue series, the movies are sometimes breaktaking and almost always hilarious. Videogame geeks with a sense of humour? Say it ain't so!

I'm losing my soul to an online game called BookWorm. Better than bejeweled. More addictive, too. No read now! PLAY!

RPS. Not some new government organization, nor a new tech term. I am speaking of the age old decision maker, Rock-Paper-Scissors. Who knows how many important decisions in the course of history have been decided by this method. A little bit of fun here on such a somber day, just don't let your co-workers catch you practicing against the computer.

Pixeljam is a "celebration of the pixel." Tiny GIF animations are resized to fill your browser window, resulting in giant blocky washes of color. Make sure to read the info, as there are some potentially important notes in there.

Shred Session is an addictive online game based on the real-life sport of footbag freestyle. Think of it as extreme Hacky Sack. Try to hit as many huge trick combinations as you can without dropping the footbag. Try to pull off the Nemisis, the Paradox Torque or the elusive Bedwetter.

Another fun way to waste time on the web. Electrotank.com went live today. Their minigolf game had been available in beta form for a week or two, but the last 9 were disabled. Now they're all there except for #18, and the dreaded hole 8 has been moved to 17. There are other games too, and a "vision" statement, the first item of which is that they will "Provide a place where people can go to play free high quality online games. " Sounds good to me! Flash plug-in required...

All pimpwar accounts disabled? I was really getting into the game. Its probably for the better since I will now be able to return to my previous life (not that it was anything signifigant). I'll just tough it out until May 1st when it comes back as a fully functional version.
