Teddy: A sketching interface for 3D freeform design (in Java). Noodle around with the
online applet (see the
tutorial for instructions; there's also a
demo in .avi format), or download the program so you can save your creations. An even niftier upgrade is available,
SmoothTeddy (
.avi demo), but SmoothTeddy doesn't have an online version to play with.

Copernica Martin Wattenberg, in collaboration with NASA and
Rhizome.org, developed
a gorgeous applet to showcase NASA's commissioned art program. Participating artists include William Wegman, Andy Warhol, Annie Leibovitz, and Robert Rauschenburg, among others. Pieces can be viewed by subject, title, or create your own gallery. Beautiful.

The Idea Line is a Java-based timeline of net artworks, arranged in a fan of luminous threads. Each thread corresponds to a particular kind of artwork or type of technology.
