The
MESSENGER spacecraft launched from Cape Canaveral on August 3, 2004 and returned to Earth for its
first gravity boost on the way to Mercury a year later on August 2, 2005. MESSENGER took hundreds of high-res digital photos during its
Earth flyby and they've been sequenced into an amazing
movie of Earth rotating over 24 hours as the spacecraft swung past at thousands of miles per hour.

Hooray! Great news for those who love to communicate - Microsoft have released a new version of their popular Windows/MSN/.NET
Messenger software! So, let's glance at the new features: there's a great new look with a
spinny logo thingy, and... and, erm... well... it's had some features
removed... like the ability to use third-party add-ons... and, oh but wait, there's new
pop-up advertising and alleged spy-ware! Oh...

Messenger Spam, for those of you on Windows 2000/XP, you might want to check this out. I don't think it's going to be an isolated phenomena, seeing as how other
bloggers (link has a link to a picture) are reporting it. Luckily, the first link has an easy solution to the problem, non-savvy users might be quite perplexed with the "important" looking dialogue box.
