"I Went to the Zoo With Roy Halladay"

" After more than four years, 1,800+ bolg posts, and countless silly indulgences surrendered to in the name of "being ZWR" … I’m incredibly proud to say that at approximately 10:00 a.m. this morning I went to the zoo with Roy Halladay!" [more inside]

Map animations of history

Youtube user EmperorTigerstar draws animated maps. Like this one, plotting the Franco-Prussian War, this one, depicting World War I, or this one, showing every day of World War 2 in Europe. Previously, previously.

"Don't mess up"

How airplanes pulling banners take off. (With wonderful MSPaint style illustrations.) Short video showing how it's done. You can hire companies to fly most any banner, of course. The pickup move is risky, so some types of banners can be directly taken off with, because of wheels (that from Wikipedia).

Hello. My name is hotdog.

I'm kind of falling in love with this tiny corner of reddit wherein users post their ms paint compositions. No two people use paint the same way, and there's a really good mix of modest skill and supreme awesomeness. Then there's /r/MSPaintBattles, the off-shoot of /r/photoshopbattles for "those who can't afford Photoshop." The two guilds waged war recently and comedy gold was produced.

Nothing but Microsoft Paint (no tablets, no touch ups).

Want to see the Stay Puft marshmallow man losing a game of mousetrap with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall (who happens to be on fire) while Face from The A Team arrives on a pigeon dressed in leopard print Y-fronts and wedding veil, all this is taking place on the moon? Jim'll Paint It.

Birds! Bears! Bees! and all the Chimpanzees

You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you.20 Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive.21 You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them. MS Paint Comics are the Best

I don't care what anyone thinks, MS Paint comics are the best.

The art world can finally go fully digital now.

What we've tried to do is create a piece of software that streamlines the design process from start to finish. Digital, um, art. (Slightly suggestive images in last link.) (Previously 1|2|3.) (Via)

True art takes note not merely of form but also of what lies behind.

MS Paint isn't just for the LOLZ .

Mona Lisa in MS Paint

People have drawn river landscapes (1, 2) in MS Paint, but how about the Mona Lisa?

Tacoholic- MS Paint Gallery

Beauty in bitmaps- Some artists work in watercolors, some oils, and some with clay. The 'artists' at tacoholic express themselves in the universally accessible medium of really bad MS Paint drawings. Its public so you can submit your own masterworks.

The Ultimate MS Paint Image

While it may not be the most aesthetically pleasing image ever created using only MS Paint, the Ultimate MS Paint image does seem like it took the most effort. Background on how the image was created, and pro-active retort by the artist to several of the comments that will be made in this thread regardless.

Suddenly, my stick figure under a smiling sun seems inadequate.

MS Paint like you've never seen it before. Says the artist: "A drawing that I used mspaint to draw with a little photophop bluring [sic], it is more than 500 hours work." It seems he saw the picture in a calendar and wanted to make a digital painting out of it. Since he didn't know how to use any graphics program he decided MS Paint would have to do. This is the amazing result. [via Boing Boing]

YOU BUY IT!!!

The rights to Pokey the Penguin(archive)-the entire body of work, characters, likenesses, etc.- are for sale on eBay. Is this the end of an infrequently updated and incoherent era that spanned nearly seven years?

Helpful Screencaps

Very descriptive screen caps This how-to section features some of the most hilariously notated screen caps I've ever seen. I'm...well, I'm speechless.
