This recently-surfaced tape of Bill O'Reilly flipping out on the set of Inside Edition has inspired a dance remix, meltdown compilation, and parody by Steven Colbert (first three links NSFW).

Ricardo Cortés has a new book talked about here and here. Previously, he wrote It's Just a Plant, talked about on O'Reilly and previously here. He also plans to write a children's book about cocaine in the near future.

Bill O'Reilly got word that Jet Blue was sponsoring the YearlyKos convention. He sent a camera crew to confront the CEO of JetBlue, asking why they were supporting radicals.
He has spent the week comparing DailyKos to the KKK and Nazi websites. He spent the majority of his radio and TV shows discussing this "hate" site. He said the right-wing equivalent of Kos was Fred Phelps.
Jetblue caved and apologized. Has someone ever misunderstood a website this bad?

Boulder High School involved in a controversy. Here's some background.
And here's the smackdown. Here's what some other students think. My favorite moment isn't even anything that's said - it's about 2:46 into the smackdown video when the other student on the panel, Andrew, realizes things are getting ready to kick-off. These are all YouTube links BTW.

Bill O'Reilly respondsYouTube to a 8 year oldYouTube (though he leaves out her saying "that idiot O'Reilly"). Bill and his "expert" Wendy Murphy (who claims that the ACLU supports child sex abuse) agree that the girl's performance is child abuse - "the ultimate inhumane treatment of a child". Murphy goes on to highlight the danger possibility of "some [religious] nut [who] wants to hunt this family down." The many comments at YouTube illustrate this point – while some are supportive, others call her a slut, and Tanzman6 (who has belonged to Right to Life and Peer Ministry clubs) says
"This little chink should shut the fuck up. We should have killed her parents in Viet Nam when we had the fucking chance. Burn the bitch."While the child obviously had help with her material, is O'Reilly right that statements like "religion has caused the genocide of nations" is propaganda about which she understands nothing? Even after considering that she is Lakota (Sioux) and probably related to Greg Zephier, an American Indian Movement Leader? [most material taken from Jesus's General]
Blu-ray discs, video games, and a cure for cancer... Too bad PS3 owners are a bunch of "know-not" idiots...
More here and here.

O'Reilly insults American victims of a WWII war crime, and Keith Olbermann calls him out. It's been a while since I've seen pure outrage so eloquently expressed. The facts about Malmédy are well known. (WMV and QT video links via Crooks and Liars).

What unites hardliners like Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, and Rush Limbaugh -- their uncompromisingly conservative take on politics? In a provocative blog post titled Do Bush followers have a political ideology?, Glenn Greenwald persuasively argues otherwise. He believes that the conservative movement -- traditionally against big government, excessive spending, and federal intrusion into the private lives of Americans -- has been hijacked by something much more dangerous: an authoritarian cult of personality, or as Greenwald puts it, "a form of highly emotional mass theater masquerading as political debate."

Down in San Deigo, the 2005 O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference (etech) just got started. Things don't really get rolling until Tuesday, but a few have already informed those of us who couldn't be there in person that they'll be blogging it - Official blog - Stream Archive including a BluetoothBot logging when people (or at least their cell phones) are coming and going - Flickr photos - Weblogs Inc.'s coverage - Sean Bonner and Ian Hay. Look for all sorts of cool things to be popping up throughout the blogosphere in the next few days.
For those of us who unfortunately couldn't make it this year, please post your favorite blogger who is there in the comments.

Make is a new mook (magazine/book) from O'Reilly "devoted to digital projects, hardware hacks, and D.I.Y. inspiration.". The first issue should be shipped by February 28th and contains articles from Yak Shaving (not literally) to a $14 video camera stabilizer to a DIY gauss rifle and lots of stuff in between. A section called MakeShift requests readers to send in their solutions to a difficult scenario. It's quarterly, around 200 pages, apparently in 9x7 format and a yearly subscription is $35 while single issues are $15 (cover price). Each project has a page for commentary as well as RSS/Atom feeds and MAKE:audio is coming soon.

In this corner Fox's Bill O'Reilly in the other corner Al "Stuart Smalley" Franken. Away from the safe confines of Fox News studio no microphone switch could be found for O'Reilly to shut Franken up as he was conveniently able to do earlier this year to anti-war protester
