It's rare to find a blog where you want to grab every picture, and click every link, but that's how it is at wonderful little mwebi, and just a few clicks there leads to these other just as tantalizing micro blogs, such as The Year in Pictures, Kitschy Living, Poculum, Cool Pictures, Colorfullthings, Design Squish and Fade Away (which has a bit of a squishy design). It leaves one wondering out loud, when did blogging get cool again?

"All my life I’ve focused on the poor. The rich ones have their own photographers."
Social documentary photographer Milton Rogovin's 'life was about seeing. In the literal sense, he was an optometrist. In a more figurative sense, through the lens of his camera, he saw things and people that were often ignored — the poor, the oppressed, the "forgotten ones," as he called them.' "A librarian in Buffalo's Communist Party, he was called before the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1957, and was named "Buffalo's Top Red" in the Buffalo Evening News. Losing business and facing intense social persecution, Rogovin turned to photography in order to create images that conveyed his desire for a more equal and just society, and to give voice to others who were persecuted, who were invisible to most." Mr. Rogovin died on January 18th at his home in Buffalo at the age of 101. Previously on Metafilter [more inside]

Pummelvision squishes your entire life into mere minutes. Let it access your photos on Flickr, Facebook or Tumblr, then hook it up to your Vimeo or YouTube account. In a matter of hours, you'll have a super fast, rather unique slideshow set to music (brought to you by Jake Lodwick, creator of Vimeo, amongst other things).

On July 17th, NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) satellite completed its first survey of the entire sky viewable from Earth. After just seven months in orbit, WISE -- a precursor to the planned James Webb Space Telescope -- has returned more than a million images that provide a close look at celestial objects ranging from distant galaxies to asteroids. The first release of WISE data, covering about 80 percent of the sky, will be delivered to the astronomical community in May of next year, but in the meantime we can see some of the images and animations that NASA has released to date: Galleries (containing just a small selection of images): 1, 2, 3, 4. Hi-res pictures of the Super-Kamiokande, a neutrino detector in Japan. The Super-Kamiokande, also known as the Super-K, is used to detect neutrinos, electrically neutral particles that are able to pass through matter. Effectively, it's a giant pool with walls made of phototubes used to detect Cherenkov radiation emitted by the interaction between neutrinos and electrons in the water. But even if you didn't understand any of that, it's still shiny and neat to look at.

Each morning, they post their photos on Minty Forest side by side." Despite the diversity of their subjects the individual days often have consistency, consonance, coincidence, congruence or discord.
